Support Local Business

Did you know that when you spend $100 at a small local business, $68 stays in the community? When you shop at a large corporate chain that number is reduced to $43 and virtually nothing when you shop online. This is the kind of message we’re spreading and we think it’s important for communities to understand why supporting small businesses matters.

Every day we have a choice. We can support an up and coming artist, try a new mom and pop restaurant, join a boutique gym started by a local fitness enthusiast or we could keep giving away our money to the handful of giants who already control so much of our commerce. Our daily decisions impact the kind world we live in; if we want a world where small businesses are growing and artists and creatives are thriving then we should support them with our time, money and attention. 

We believe that small businesses need an advocate – somebody who is actively spreading the message to “Support Local” on their behalf. We hope to grow a community of small business owners and advocates that help us continue spreading the word. Small businesses are what make our communities feel like, well, communities. They’ve always been there for us. Now it’s our turn to be there for them. We’re proud to highlight inspiring creatives, charities, and entrepreneurs each week.
